About Holistic Wellness Solutions
Meet Alicja Matusiak
Alicja Matusiak was born in Poland. As a very good student, she was always starving for knowledge. She was a serious child, the oldest of two. Her father was diagnosed with severe depression and tried to take his own life in 1994. She had a hard time understanding his disease and decided she would focus her life on studying the human mind.
She immigrated to the U.S. in 1999, and worked as a nanny for a few years while attending college in Columbus, Ohio. She acquired a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s degree in social work, bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing, and committed herself to serving others who struggle with mental health issues.
She joined the U.S. Army Reserves in 2013 and serves as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, counseling soldiers suffering from trauma or another form of crisis. She worked for various mental health outpatient centers in Columbus, and in 2009 she began working in a private practice setting.
In addition to Holistic Wellness Solutions, Alicja has also formed the Columbus Bachelorettes, an organization for women geared towards helping them find friendships, beat loneliness, and built stronger relationships with themselves and others.
Alicja volunteers for Children Services bi-weekly and spends time with a four girls’ sibling group, trying to impact their lives in a positive way. She has two little dogs, Prince and Carmen, and rescued a little kitten a few weeks ago who joined their family. In her free time, she loves to walk with her puppies and visit local parks.
“Learning never exhausts the mind,” as Leonardo da Vinci once said, and so her dream is to continue learning and serving her community.
